Extensive experience in the oil and gas industry. Began a career at Statoil (now Equinor) and worked there for 20 years within the midstream and downstream gas sectors. Held several leadership positions, including roles within gas sales operations in Europe and the United States. Participated in the IPO process for Statoil, with particular responsibility for the establishment of Gassco and Petoro, including the development of the Gas Sales Instruction (Avsetningsinstruksen). Subsequently spent 13 years as CEO of Silex Gas Norway AS, which owned gas infrastructure on the Norwegian continental shelf. Has been with Petoro since 2025.

Gas Infrastructure

The gas infrastructure is part of the State’s Direct Financial Interest (SDFI), and Petoro has been assigned a separate mandate for managing the central gas infrastructure. In managing the state’s ownership in key gas infrastructure, Petoro emphasizes the role of this infrastructure as a tool for achieving socio‑economic value creation and responsible resource management. Important principles include managing the central gas infrastructure separately from the rest of the SDFI portfolio and ensuring that decisions do not place particular emphasis on effects on the state’s interests in production licenses.
The department works to monitor Gassco’s general operator responsibilities, which fall under owner governance, as well as collaboration with Gassco related to its special operator role (the architecture function).
