The partnership has submitted a plan for development and operation (PDO) for Verdande to the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy.
Verdande is a subsea development that helps secure oil volumes for the Norne production vessel. Norne will then have an economic production beyond 2026. The volumes from Verdande consist of the discoveries Cape Vulture and Alve Nordøst, which were proven in 2017 and 2020 respectively. Altogether, the development amounts to 36.3 million barrels of recoverable oil equivalents.
The development will consist of well-known technology similar to what we find in other satellite developments in the Norne field area. Verdande will be run as part of Norne, including all activities at the supply base in Sandnessjøen, the helicopter base in Brønnøysund and local contributions from engineering services and fabrication.
Verdande is located 7.5 kilometers north-west of Norne and it is planned for three production wells.
Production start for the field is planned for the 4th quarter of 2025.
Licensees in Verdande: Equinor Energy AS – operator - (59.3 %), Petoro AS (22.4 %), Vår Energi ASA (10.5 %), Aker BP ASA (7.0 %), PGNIG Upstream Norway AS (0.8%).
